Dev Update #24 (Jul 25 - Sep 12 2025)

This is the first development update that is shared in the long format. As the development of Fractal 2.0 accelerates, new features and updates are hitting the upstream faster than it is possible to cover them in the short media posts.

The goal of the new format is to provide a more in-depth look at "what" and "why" is happening from the dev perspective.

Infrastructure

One of the key paradigms of AIKEK was always to allocate as much compute as possible per user, in the form of data analysis, meme generators, or AI agent reasoning. AIKEK's Hybrid Cloud now has a much more efficient resource scheduler. On the user side, that means, "the same amount of GPUs now does the existing stuff faster, plus unlocks some new stuff". The "new stuff" is almost finished and will be revealed in the coming days, after this Dev Update is out.

Multimodal Support

As a direct result of the infrastructure upgrade, vision support has become available to all users. You can now leverage it inside the TG Playground to analyze image sources using /ask, or to edit images in memegen-related commands; the support for X agents is coming soon.

TG Playground

Context Engineering

When using /ask or /image, TG Playground will automatically load and scan all websites, images, YouTube videos, token CAs, PDF files, and other content mentioned in messages. This is just another step towards fully autonomous research, guided and controlled by you.

Longer Context

Another pleasant result of the recent infra updates is that /brainstorm and /summarize commands now process more data while at the same time working faster than before!

All LLM tools I use (including those I build myself) are bottlenecked by memory, not intelligence

Either we make context 100x longer, or find an alternative to in-context learning, or both

Minor Fixes

Fixed a bug when TG Playground was sending polls to the wrong GC topic (if you had topics enabled).

Prompt Enhancer

As a temporary experiment, Prompt Enhancer (PE) was updated to always utilize one of AIKEK's custom meme styles. Sometimes it led to confusion on the user side; the feature was reverted. The upcoming version of PE will utilize online Reinforcement Learning to understand users more intelligently and learn in real-time.

More details to come when the rollout is finished - for now, you can notice that the text quality on images has become noticeably better!

Reports

AIKEK OGs may remember the custom AI Report functionality. They were deprecated some time ago in favor of Fractal 2.0's Deep Graph Research, and the Reports API was removed.
